Contemplative Writing Prompts for Lent: 3

If you’d like an explanation for this series of posts, peruse this introductory post. Otherwise, feel free to take the next twenty minutes and write on the Contemplative Writing Prompts for Lent 3:

For ten minutes, write what is in front of you. Use your five senses. It helps me to make a list down the left side of the page (sight, smell, hearing, taste, touch). If appropriate, imagine a sense (“If the radio were on, WWOZ would be rocking Jon Batiste into ‘Freedom.'”) Don’t worry about cohesiveness. Just describe.

Now, turn around. Yes, physically turn in your chair. For the next ten minutes, to the best of your recollection, write down what is now in front of you and how it differs from your first view.

If you have lagniappe time, compare your two writings and note what your brain chose to record and remember. Enjoy this Contemplative Writing Prompts for Lent: 3!
