Night Terrors
Write, write. Submit, submit. This is me, a busy little bee. One paid off, a story about the magic of night terrors.
Or, alternatively, the demons in my prior life.
I thank Dorothy Parker’s Ashes for publishing it.
Y’all take a look and let me know what you think.
Dorothy Parker's Ashes, night terrors, What are night terrors?
Joe Hawes

Thank you, Joe. Hope to see you soon.

Wow! I love it, Ellen, and I also love that it was published in a journal called Dorothy Parker’s Ashes. How cool is that?! I must say, though, I don’t think I’ll be going swimming in the Gulf any time soon 😉
Ellen Morris Prewitt
Isn’t that a great name? That rat got my attention too. 🙂
Joanne Corey
I confess that I almost didn’t read it because I was afraid it would be too scary – and I admit that the photo is pretty scary. The essay, though, is very well-done and does bring us to a complex sense of resolution. I’m sending a virtual hug. <3
Ellen Morris Prewitt
Thank you for the hug! They published another essay on night terrors, so they chose this name for the piece, which is odd when the essay says “they are not nightmares.” But beggars (i.e., writers) can’t be choosers. 🙂

Yeah, headline writing can be inscrutable.
On another topic, I know you left most social media some time back but I was wondering if you might have joined Bluesky. If so, you can find me there!
Ellen Morris Prewitt
I joined because a woman I follow on Mastodon started posting there. I’ll look you up!
Joanne Corey
I tried to find you but didn’t manage it. I am @joannecorey.bsky.social.
Donna
Well done, Ellen!
