Decatur Book Festival!
Y’all, I’m going to the Decatur Book Festival!
I’m so excited. The festival takes place right outside of Atlanta. I know, the Falcons. Not good for a Saints fan. But take a look at the lineup of authors. It’s really fabulous. I’ll be on a panel with another writer who uses her family in her writing–more reveal to follow!
October 2-3. So you have time to make plans. I’m sure I’ll have many tales to tell when I return.
Go books!

The quest for WHEN WE WERE MURDEROUS TIME-TRAVELING WOMEN to become a cult classic continues at the Decatur Book Festival.

#1 I hope you have fun and sell a lot of books.
#2 Can you please tell me how you prepare for an event like this? I have 4 book fairs coming up this fall/winter, and I want to make sure I am prepared this time. In the past I had no clue. Do you have something free to hand out? Do you use a QR code and if so how do you display it? Stuff like that . . . .

Well, it’s a work in progress. I do have a QR code to ask people to sign up for the newsletter. I also have free bookmarks that use quotes from the novel (people have reacted well to that.) As I understand these setups, there will be a panel followed by a signing (in perhaps a different tent.) So it seems I need a “if you want to follow my work” QR code + old fashioned sheet option at the place of the panel and also at the signing site. I’m mulling something about “sign up, and I’ll send you the inside poop on what’s real and what’s not.” For display, I like the cheap acrylic stands from Vistaprint.
What are you thinking about doing?
