In the “Movies”

I expect I’ve mentioned here how hard it is for me to see photos of myself. Traditionally, it’s been even harder for me to watch film of myself. “Movies,” as they say, rather than still photographs. Recently, I appeared on the Earle Farrell 4Memphis Show. My husband was there during the interview. He said I did a good job. But he wanted me to watch it for myself. I protested. Then there it was, playing on the TV (you know how you can watch YouTube on TV.) So I sat down, and I watched.

Imagine my surprise when I liked it.

It was a strange experience, like watching a different person on the screen. Of course, I usually see the world from this side of the screen, inside my head. I was watching her, and I thought, this is a funny woman. Not that she was trying to be funny. She just was. My husband said, “You’re making yourself laugh.” Ah, well. Yes.

Let me know what you think.
