The Computer Chiding Me
Sometimes I have an idea to post here. Then I think about the SEO Optimization check and the Readability check and the “Have you added an excerpt? check.” I hear the computer chiding me and my pitiful post. And my desire deflates.
Why not just go ahead and post and ignore all that? Because the post will have red-faced unhappy emojis dancing all around it. Why do I care what the computer thinks about my post? The same reason I care about what my watch thinks about me.
“You didn’t close any rings yesterday, Ellen. Do better today!” Or, “Great job, Ellen! Your rings are way ahead for the morning.” When the truth is, my Stand numbers are high because I couldn’t sleep and was walking around at 3 am, not a positive situation at all.
So, yeah. I’m posting this as a test to see if I can do it without worrying about the computer chiding me.
Ha, ha—without even an image attached. 🙂

Yay, Ellen! Ignore SEO and checklists and photos and the Shoulds and share with us!
You probably want to do all that checklist stuff when you are doing a major post about writing, anti-racism work, etc. but don’t let all that computer/officialdom pressure get in the way of getting your thoughts out to your readers. The computer doesn’t care about your thoughts but we humans do.

Such a good point, to think about the level of need for the word to get out on a particular post to a larger audience. I kind of intuited that when finishing this post when I wondered, why put hashtags on this? So I will use that question as I go forward.
