I Voted Today
Today, I walked ten minutes to our neighborhood polling place. We passed others also walking the streets (New Orleans has the most unpredictable sidewalks.) It was warm. For the first time, my cast began to itch. Inside, the poll workers were efficient without being rude. I cast my vote. On the way back home, Tom took my photo with one of the multitudes of Harris signs along our walk. He never looks in the viewfinder, so my eyes are closed. But you can see I cosplayed Harris as I voted today. If I could have gotten that cast inside a jacket sleeve, I would’ve worn a pants suit.
The vote today was historic. It deserves extra. In New Orleans, extra means dressing up.
Too bad an angry man has jerked the spotlight off of today’s achievement. (I won’t go into what life has taught me about how men act when they sense they’re about to lose to a woman.) I voted today for a woman of Black and Asian descent for President of the United States. That counts.
I live in a totally red state that will go heavily for Trump. Doesn’t matter. Today, my vote was monumental.

Love that your cast matched your outfit – and it seems that it would have been too warm for a jacket, at any rate.
It’s very warm here for November and may set another record. Planning on a long night tonight with what I hope will be a good-news trend, even if final results will take a while.

I was initially drawn to the tie-dye cast, then was like, think this through, Ellen. I got the black because it would, “go with everything.” But no signing it. 🙁
I’m worried about your weather. Hell, all of our weather. We’re tracking another November storm down here. At least it’s snowing in Colorado where my sister lives.

I know you have experience with this! Maybe some day you will write about it?

Since you asked, I certainly will. ❤️
