After practicing law in Jackson, Mississippi, for 19 years, I turned to writing. My work has been extensively published, including in Image, The Pinch, Alaska Quarterly Review, Gulf Coast, Fourth Genre, storySouth, Barrelhouse, Porchlight, River Teeth, EAP, Mississippi Free Press, Luna Station Quarterly, Southern Women’s Review, and Salvation South. My stories have twice been nominated for a Pushcart Prize; one received a Special Mention.
My short story collection, Cain’t Do Nothing with Love, won the Audio Book Award from CIPA EVVY; stories from the collection have been downloaded over 50,000 times. I’m a graduate of Sewanee Writers Conference, Community of Writers Retreat at the Valley, The Glen, and Kenyon College Summer Writing Program.
As a Southern writer, I’m proud to have been runner-up in the William Faulkner Literary Competition. I live with my beloved husband and Evangeline the dog in New Orleans…and Memphis…and the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
